FAQ

I am Here To Help You With Any Questions You May Have

The first appointment is an assessment session, where we talk about what has brought you to counselling, your goals, and how we might work together.

Each session lasts 1 hour.

Everyone’s journey is different. Some people benefit from short-term counselling, while others choose longer-term support. We’ll discuss this together in our first session.

Everything that is discussed in the therapy room is confidential. There are very
limited circumstances where your confidentiality may need to be broken. This would be in cases where there was a concern regarding your current mental state, if you were to disclose a crime that was not previously known or if there were safeguarding issues around children or other vulnerable people.

All client information is collected, managed, and disposed of strictly in accordance with GDPR regulations. Electronic records are securely maintained on an encrypted cloud platform, while paper-based documents are stored in a restricted-access, secure location available only to authorised personnel. These measures safeguard your privacy and maintain the confidentiality of personal data throughout your counselling process. Upon completion of sessions, all information gathered during counselling is deleted to ensure continued protection.

Not at all. Counselling is open to everyone. If you would like to explore faith in your sessions, we can, but there is never any expectation to do so.

Counselling supports a variety of concerns, such as:

  • Relationship difficulties
  • Infertility, miscarriage, or infant loss
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Bereavement
  • Mental health conditions
  • Childhood or adult trauma
  • Domestic violence
  • Major illnesses (e.g., cancer, terminal diagnoses)
  • Coping with dementia in a loved one
  • Addiction
  • Financial stress
  • Faith based concerns
  • Low self-esteem
  • Anger issues
  • Sexual abuse
  •  Faith based abuse

This list is not exhaustive but merely an example of some of the areas where
counselling may be beneficial

Healing from abuse can be especially complex when it occurs within a faith-based or Christian context. Abuse in these settings may take many forms, leaving individuals doubting their self-worth or sense of autonomy. Factors such as a culture of silence, an emphasis on reputation, or misunderstandings about forgiveness may further discourage disclosure and access to help. If you are processing these experiences, counselling provides a confidential and understanding space to gently explore your story.
